PETERSEN MEDIA- Kicking his outdoor season off over the weekend at Adobe Mountain Speedway during the Dan Steffey Memorial, Austin Torgerson had a strong showing as he picked up a win during Non-Winged ‘A’ Classic action while piloting a Coby Adams owned entry.

Taking part in both Outlaw and ‘A’ Class Non-Winged action all weekend long, the festivities kicked off on Friday night, where he picked up a fourth-place finish in his ‘A’ Class heat race, as a third place finish in Outlaw competition.

Moving into the 24-lap ‘A’ Class feature event, the Glendale, AZ driver lined up in the seventh row. In a hard-fought feature event that saw Torgerson try to put a run together, but he seemingly capped his Friday night ‘A’ class feature off with a 13th place finish.

Lining up in the third row of the Outlaw class feature event, Torgerson battled hard in the lead pack during much of the preliminary night feature event. Holding his own in the Top-10, Torgerson brought his Friday night to a close with an eighth place finish.

Back to work on Saturday night for the Steffey finale, Torgerson timed the Torgerson racing entry in seventh quickest in Outlaw class time trials, before charging from seventh to 5th in his heat race.

Moving into the ‘B Main’ No. 2, Torgerson’s front row starting position had him a great spot to transfer into the feature event. Picking up a second-place finish in his semi, Torgerson kept his night alive as he moved into the 24-lap finale where he rolled off the starting grid from the 20th starting position.

From the back of the pack, Torgerson had his elbows up as he fought his way forward. Able to make some strong moves around the Adobe Mountain Speedway surface, Torgerson charged to an 11th place finish in Outlaw Class action.

Running a Coby Adams car in ‘A’ Class action, Saturday night saw Torgerson get his night off to a very strong start as he advanced from sixth in his heat race to score a second-place finish and move into the pole shuffle.

Earning the win in the shuffle, Torgerson then led the field to green in the feature event and the rest was simply history. Extremely strong out front, Torgerson wired the field and led all 24-laps as he scored the popular win to get his outdoor season started off well.

ON TAP: Austin Torgerson is idle this weekend, but will get back to racing on March 8th as he will travel to Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, CA.
