PETERSEN MEDIA- A busy week in Tulsa, OK to close out the 2023 season came to an end with Austin Torgerson picking up a 13th place finish in the Non-Winged Outlaw Class feature event on Sunday night.

 

Taking part in four divisions over the week long extravaganza inside the Tulsa Expo Center in Oklahoma, Torgerson finished in B and C mains in Stock Non Winged action, Winged Outlaw Action, and Winged A-Class competition, but all week long he was very strong in Non-Winged Outlaw action.

 

Lining up ninth in his Non-Winged Outlaw heat race, the Glendale, AZ driver flexed his muscle as he wasted no time working his way forward in the eight-lap event. Carving is way to a second-place finish, Torgerson earned big points as he waited for his qualifier later in the week.

 

Taking the green flag from the fourth starting position in his 10-lap qualifier, Torgerson was able to earn valuable points as he advanced one position and earned a third-place finish.

 

When points were tallied, he found himself locked into the Sunday night feature event where he took the green flag from the 14th starting position in the 30-lap finale.

 

Working his way through the field as the action came to fruition, Torgerson cracked the Top-10 by the sixth circuit as he continued to run hard. Making his way into the Top-5 on the 18th lap, and lap 20 misstep saw him fall back to ninth.

 

Fading back a few more spots during the closing laps of the feature, Torgerson brought his week to a close as he took the checkered flag with a 13th place finish.

 

ON TAP: Austin Torgerson will be in action at next week’s Chili Bowl Midget Nationals where he will run with Mounce/Stout Motorsports. He is slated to hit the dirt for his prelim night on Monday, January 8th.
