PETERSEN MEDIA- For the 2024 season, Ashton Torgerson has made it a goal of his to further his motorsports career. Opting to put Micro Sprints on the back burner, and focus on Midgets and Sprint Cars, Torgerson will compete with one of the best teams in the business as he will pilot a Keith Kunz Motorsports entry with the Xtreme Outlaw Midgets in 2024.
“I am very excited to team up with Keith Kunz, Pete Willoughby, and everyone associated with the Keith Kunz Motorsports team,” Torgerson said. “It is no secret they are at the top of the mountain in Midget racing, and I am excited to learn from some great teammate in the season ahead.”
2024 has gotten off to a stellar start for the Glendale, AZ driver. The 17-year-old driver made headlines on New Years Day as he scored his first career Golden Driller as he picked up a win during the ultra-competitive Tulsa Shootout.
Returning to Tulsa, OK later in January for the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, Torgerson recorded an 11th place finish during his qualifying night, before tallying an 11th place finish in Saturday’s Championship finale.
Torgerson does have some Xtreme Outlaw Midget starts to his credit as well as he piloted a Tanner Thorson owned Midget in May of 2023 where he finished third at Humboldt Speedway and 11th at 81 Speedway.
“I am thankful for some great people that have put me in this position, and I am eager to get to work,” Torgerson said. “Excited for to be in a great spot, and hope I can do the KKM team proud in 2024.”
When the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series has breaks in their schedule, Torgerson will fill dates in back home running the family owned Sprint Car.
